CRATER Cosmic Ray Transport and Energetic Radiations

  • Date May 28 - June 1, 2018
  • Room GSSI
  • Speaker many speakers
  • Area Physics

The CRATER Workshop will bring together scientists to discuss the propagation of cosmic rays in the Milky Way, with special emphasis on the link between the micro-physics of particle transport in turbulent magnetic fields and the galactic-scale transport modeling.

The conference aims at exploring synergies between expertise in plasma physics, cosmic-ray theory, numerical modeling and experimental efforts to investigate the mechanisms responsible for transport in the interstellar environment and their role in explaining recent cosmic-ray anomalies.

Main topics of the workshop:

  • Models of galactic cosmic ray propagation
  • Charged particle transport in turbulent magnetic fields
  • Gamma-ray astronomy
  • Cosmic ray anisotropy: observations and interpretation
