Cecilia Pasquinelli is a postdoctoral research fellow in Social Sciences at the Gran Sasso Science Institute. Before arriving in L’Aquila, she worked in the Department of Social and Economic Geography at Uppsala University, Sweden. She received her Ph.D. in Management, Competitiveness, and Development from the Institute of Management at Scuola Sant’Anna in Pisa. She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Place Management and Development. Her research interests concern local and regional development and, within this framework, she has focused on a range of themes including place branding, place of origin, urban tourism, tourism development and management, and tourism innovation. In 2017 Cecilia was nominated Senior Fellow of the Institute of Place Management, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. Her work has been published in international journals including Cities, Local Economy, Urban Studies, Marketing Theory, Environment Planning Studies, Urban Research and Practice, Place Branding and Public Diplomacy. She recently co-edited the book Tourism in the City. Towards an Integrative Agenda on Urban Tourism (Springer, 2017).
